Mercedes GT Roadster Anti Theft Alarm Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mercedes GT Roadster with a hybrid engine experienced a malfunction in its anti-theft alarm system, with an error stored in the memory and the system being non-functional. The suspected cause was related to the coding for optical locking indicators. The issue was resolved by recoding the system, which restored the alarm's functionality.

Which alarm sensor connections specifically gave you trouble on the Volvo? Any particular location or system I should focus on?

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure which sensor it was. The workshop guys sorted it out. I just remember them mentioning something about a faulty connection and some weird coding issue. Might be best to get it checked professionally. Cost me a bit but was worth it for peace of mind.

Appreciate the insight. Took it to the workshop. Turns out the anti-theft alarm was coded to activate the indicators which was causing the issue. Recoding resolved it. Total cost 45€. Thanks!

Good day! I own a 2018 G-Class diesel...I think the anti-theft system has been triggered because I can no longer start it...the engine turns over but doesn't start as if it's not getting fuel. I read on a blog to initialize the key...inserted in the ignition, turned to position 1, waited 10 seconds, then turned to position 0 and tried again...it doesn't work...do you have any idea what I can do? Thank you

Try checking the fuel pump relay and fuse first, as a blown fuse or faulty relay can prevent the fuel pump from working, causing the engine not to start. If these are fine, it might be a more complex issue with the anti-theft system itself, and I recommend having a professional diagnose it. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hmm, sounds familiar. Had something similar happen with my older Volvo, though not a hybrid. The car alarm kept going off randomly, or sometimes not at all. Did you check the alarm sensor connections? Could be a loose wire or corrosion messing with the alarm control unit. I'm no expert but maybe that's something?
