Mercedes GT Roadster Error Messages and Potential Vehicle Coding Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Mercedes GT Roadster is experiencing error messages in both the infotainment system and speedometer, with a fault code stored in the error memory. The issue is suspected to be related to incorrect vehicle coding. A suggestion was made to use an OBD-II diagnostic scanner to reset the codes, which temporarily resolved a similar issue for another owner. Ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop for recoding is recommended as a more permanent solution.

Thank you for the suggestion. When you used the OBD-II diagnostic scanner, did it point to a specific module or malfunction indicator causing the issue, or did it just flag a generic fault code? I'm curious if you recall any specifics that might help narrow down the cause before I proceed.

Honestly, I don't remember the exact code. It was a while back, but it definitely pointed towards a coding issue after the engine diagnostics. Resetting the codes did the trick temporarily, but the error came back a few days later. Ended up taking it to the workshop, and they recoded something. No problems since then. I'd suggest you do the same.

Understood. I appreciate the additional information. I will proceed with taking it to a workshop for recoding. The estimated repair cost is approximately 360€. Thank you for your assistance.

I had something similar happen with my GT. Didn't get the error message in the speedometer, but the infotainment system was going nuts. Have you tried engine diagnostics with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner and then reset codes? That cleared up some weirdness for me once. Could be worth a shot before you start tearing things apart.
