When you had the issue on your BMW, was it a pain to diagnose? Did you check for coolant leaks yourself, or did you have to take it to a shop?

Yeah, it was a real headache. In my case, I suspected a coolant leak after topping off the engine coolant a few times, but couldn't find it myself. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They found a minor coolant leak near the thermostat housing. So, if you're seeing coolant levels drop, best take it in.

Thanks for the insight! I ended up taking it to my mechanic. Turns out, the water valve was indeed defective, as suspected. A quick replacement, costing around 95€, and the car heating is working perfectly again. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had similar car heating issues with my old BMW. Error codes and low heat. Check engine coolant levels first. Could be low coolant leading to valve blockage.
