Mercedes GT Roadster Hybrid ABS Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Mercedes GT Roadster hybrid is experiencing an ABS issue, with the ABS light on and the system disabled. The problem is traced to a fault with the lateral acceleration sensor and a defective control unit, impacting electronic stability and traction control. The suggested solution is to replace the faulty sensor control unit, which was confirmed by a dealer, resolving the issue and restoring vehicle stability.

No, nothing obvious triggered it. It just popped up one morning when I started the car. I’ve checked the basics like fuses, but no luck. Was the BMW fix straightforward, or did they chase their tails for a while

They definitely chased their tails a bit. Turned out the sensor itself was faulty, but the initial diagnosis was all over the place. I’d say get it to a good workshop ASAP. Those electronic stability systems are crucial, and you don't want to mess around when vehicle stability is compromised. Don't risk driving it hard until it's sorted

Thanks, that’s what I was afraid of. Appreciate the insight Took it to the dealer, and you were right – the lateral acceleration sensor control unit was indeed toast. Quoted 1000€ which is what I was expecting. At least the safety warning is gone now and everything is working as it should be

Whoa, that sounds rough I had a similar nightmare with my old BMW Z4 a few years back. ABS light, traction control going haywire – the whole nine yards. They told me it was also a lateral acceleration sensor issue. Was yours triggered by anything specific like a hard bump or extreme weather
