Sounds familiar I had similar engine stalling and rough running issues with my old Volvo, although that was a gasoline engine The vehicle diagnostics pointed to a faulty spark plug, but the actual problem was a cracked ignition coil Have you checked the resistance of the ignition coil itself A simple multimeter test could confirm if it's truly defective Also, visually inspect the spark plug for any signs of damage or unusual wear Just like a bad valve can cause problems in your chest, a bad ignition coil can cause issues in your engine

Resistance, huh That's a good call I didn't get that deep into it So, if the resistance is off, that pretty much confirms the defective ignition coil, right And about the spark plug, is there anything specific I should be looking for Is it easy to replace

Correct If the resistance is significantly outside the manufacturer's specified range, the ignition coil is likely the culprit As for the spark plug, look for cracks in the ceramic insulator, excessive carbon buildup, or a widened gap If you are not familiar with these issues, I suggest you seek a qualified technician to check your vehicle The cost is about 95€

Thanks I appreciate the insight I'll take it to my usual workshop, as you suggested Hopefully, it's just the ignition coil, as that seems to match what I'm experiencing That estimated repair cost sounds about right, too You saved me a ton of guesswork
