No unusual noises or mechanical fault that I could detect. It just stopped working. I'm wondering if there's a common failure point in the electronic steering system specific to this model.

Thanks for the additional details. While there may be common failure points, diagnosing electronic steering issues remotely is difficult and potentially misleading. Given the symptoms and your initial diagnosis, and that you've not identified a mechanical fault, the 95€ quote seems reasonable for further investigation. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for them to check the cable and plug connection.

I appreciate the input. It turns out it was a loose connector as suspected. 95€ well spent. Thanks.

It sounds like you've done some solid preliminary diagnosis. The symptoms you describe strongly suggest an electrical issue, as you suspect. Think of it like a lamp that won't turn on. You've checked the bulb (error code), and now you're looking at the wiring (cable/plug). Is there any mechanical fault you can observe or feel when trying to adjust the steering? Could you hear any unusual noises, like a motor struggling, before the adjustment stopped working entirely?
