Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes GT Roadster hybrid was experiencing transmission issues and a transmission oil temperature sensor fault. The problem was identified as a low transmission oil level, which was causing the sensor error and rough gear shifts. After topping off the oil and replacing the sensor, the issues were resolved, resulting in smooth gear shifts and no further errors.

Emergency mode is basically limp mode I am using an OBD II scanner and a diagnostic tool for the error codes When you say similar issues did you also have a transmission sensor problem or something else What was the fix

Limp mode makes sense Mine turned out to be a faulty transmission sensor I did not have the grinding noises though which is concerning I would get it checked out by a qualified workshop soon They will be able to properly diagnose it and check the oil level Do not risk causing more damage

I was right about the low oil level being the root cause I topped it off and the sensor error disappeared Gear shifts are smooth again and no more grinding The whole ordeal cost me 365€ including the new sensor Thanks for the help

That sounds rough I had similar transmission issues with my GT Roadster I noticed the rough gear shifting and eventually got the warning lights too What is emergency mode anyway I have never heard of that How did you check the error codes
