Mercedes M Klasse Hybrid Engine Stalling Issue Resolved

My 2011 Mercedes M Klasse hybrid has a check engine light, rough running, and stalls at idle. Acceleration feels jerky. I suspect a bad fuel pressure sensor or connection. Has anyone encountered this?

I had similar issues with my old Vauxhall Corsa, though it was a gasoline engine. Rough idle, stalling, the whole deal! For me, it was a faulty fuel pressure sensor. Have you checked the cable and plug? A bad connection can seem like a sensor problem.

Thanks for the quick response! I looked at the connector, but didn't notice anything. Can I test the connection without special tools? Or know if it's not the fuel pump?

It's hard to rule out the fuel pump or wiring without diagnostic tools, given the symptoms and your check. But, since a fuel pressure sensor is cheaper than the pump, it might be worth trying that first, but be careful. A workshop visit might be best to avoid wasting money. Getting a professional opinion would be most effective, I think.

Thanks for the advice. You nailed it! My mechanic found a bad fuel pressure sensor connection. The repair was 95€. Now the fuel economy is good, and no more stalling. Thanks for the help!
