Mercedes M Klasse throttle issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mercedes M Klasse is experiencing reduced engine power and an illuminated check engine light, with diagnostics indicating a faulty throttle valve. The issue might also involve the accelerator pedal module or internal electronics. A similar problem in a Volvo was resolved by replacing the throttle body due to a malfunctioning throttle position sensor. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic inspect and likely replace the throttle body to restore proper engine function.

Thanks, but the air flow was okay when they ran the diagnostics. Can you tell me more about the problem you had with your Volvo, and how you fixed it? I want to know if the throttle body was the problem or something else.

No problem. My Volvo had a bad throttle position sensor inside the throttle body. It was like a dimmer switch that wasn't working right, so the car got the wrong signals. The shop said that was it and changed the whole throttle body. Because of what you're seeing and what the diagnostics say, I'd get a mechanic to check it out to be sure. The replacement was 265€.

I appreciate the explanation and the comparison. From what you've said and what the mechanic thinks, changing the throttle body is probably the right thing to do. I'll get it fixed at the shop. Thanks for the help.

That sounds like what happened with my old Volvo V70. The symptoms are exactly the same. My engine went into limp mode. Did you check the air flow sensor? A bad sensor can look like throttle body problems and turn on the check engine light.
