Mercedes ML Diesel Jerking Issue

My 2013 Mercedes ML diesel is jerking when accelerating Check engine light is on and engine power seems halved Sometimes it stalls at idle and the exhaust smells like burning Error codes point towards the intake manifold Could it be a vacuum leak or a scorched manifold

Sounds familiar I've got a similar ML, and I had a similar issue a while back Check engine light was on, rough running, all that Did you notice any hissing sounds or anything unusual with the engine noise It could very well be a problem with the intake manifold I'm not sure about the manifold sensor, but a vacuum leak is a good place to start looking

No hissing sounds that I've noticed, but honestly, with the engine making all sorts of weird noises, it's hard to tell Did your mechanic say anything about a scorched car manifold when they fixed yours Was it a major job, and did it also impact the air intake

They mentioned something about scorching being a common cause of intake manifold failure Honestly, I don't remember the specifics, it was a while ago I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose the issue properly A leaking intake manifold can cause all sorts of problems with the engine running

Thanks a lot for the advice You were spot on Took it to the workshop, and it was indeed a defective intake manifold Scorching was the culprit, just like we suspected Ended up costing me 1180€ to replace, but at least the car is running smoothly again Appreciate the help
