Regarding the leaks around the turbo area, I am not entirely sure how to check for those Could you perhaps provide a bit more detail on how to identify potential leaks, or what to look for specifically

Well, without proper tools it's tricky I mainly listened closely with the hood open while someone revved the engine a bit But honestly, if you're not confident, it's best to get it checked professionally Wastegate issues can mess with boost pressure and cause more problems down the line The cost you mentioned doesn't sound too far off what I paid back then

Your comments were helpful, and I appreciate you sharing your experience I took the car to my trusted mechanic, and after a thorough inspection, they confirmed the issue was indeed a faulty wastegate valve The repair cost ended up being exactly as I had anticipated, 860€ The car is now running smoothly again

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my old 2012 Ford Focus diesel Check engine light, power loss, the works In my case, it turned out to be a wastegate problem too Have you checked for any obvious leaks around the turbo area That whistling and hissing could point to that
