Mercedes ML Headlight and Windshield Washer Failure

My 2001 Mercedes ML with a diesel engine has a headlight cleaning system that's stopped working, and the windshield washer system has failed too. Fluid levels are okay. Could it be a cable connection or a relay? Any ideas about this Xenon cleaning issue or weak points in the hose routing?

Sounds like a potential electrical issue. The headlight and windshield washer pumps often share a common ground or power supply. Have you checked the fuses? A faulty relay could definitely cause both systems to fail. Could also be a corroded connector.

I checked the fuses and they seemed fine. Is there a single relay controlling both pumps, or are they separate? Where is it located? I'm thinking about using a multimeter.

There might be a dedicated relay for the headlight washers, and the windshield washer pump runs off something else. Since both stopped at the same time, a shared power source or ground is still my main suspicion. Without the wiring diagrams for your ML, pinpointing the relay location is difficult. A workshop visit might be needed.

It was a corroded connector. I took it to a workshop, and they traced it back to a faulty connection and repaired it. Cost me 165€.
