Mercedes ML Key Battery Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Mercedes ML owner experienced a 'key battery low' warning, leading to keyless entry issues and system errors. The problem was likely caused by a depleted key battery, which can reduce the key's radio frequency output. Replacing the key battery resolved the issue, but a diagnostic check was suggested to ensure no other underlying problems.

Is it really that simple? Could a low voltage key battery actually cause all those problems?

Yes, a depleted key battery can manifest in those symptoms. The key's radio frequency output diminishes with low voltage. While replacement of the battery should resolve it, a diagnostic check at a workshop is recommended to confirm no other underlying issues.

Thanks for the advice. Replacing the key battery seems to have fixed the problem. It cost me 37€, and everything is working as it should again.

A similar issue presented itself with my ML. Have you tried replacing the key battery?
