Spot on Coding as in altering the software settings So, what exactly did you do to fix it And was it the same symptoms, convertible top refusing to budge

Indeed, the convertible top was completely unresponsive as part of the car sunroof issue. Given the complexity of the system and the potential for further complications, I opted to take it to a workshop that specializes in Mercedes vehicles. They have the diagnostic tools and expertise to properly re-initialize the sunroof and ensure all the related systems are functioning correctly. Attempting a DIY fix without the necessary knowledge could potentially damage the control modules or other components.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a specialist, and you were right, the coding was messed up. They re-initialized the sunroof, and everything is working again. Cost me 75€. Appreciate the help.

I had a similar predicament with my ML, the sunroof system threw a fit after some work was done on the car's computer. By 'coding,' do you mean someone altered the software settings of the vehicle's control modules? The sunroof operation relies heavily on proper communication between these modules. If the coding was incorrect or incomplete, it could definitely cause the issues you're describing. The sunblind and convertible top are both integrated into the car sunroof system, so a fault in one area can affect the others.
