Mercedes ML washer fluid warning light problem
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Mercedes ML owner experienced a persistent 'Washer Fluid Low' warning and a non-functional windshield washer system despite a full reservoir. The issue was traced to a faulty fluid level sensor, which was confirmed through testing with a multimeter. Cleaning the sensor did not resolve the problem, but replacing it with a new one for 25€ successfully fixed the warning light and restored the washer system's functionality.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where is the pump, and how hard is it to reach? When you say 'cleaning' the sensor, do you mean wiping it, or is there more to it? I want to avoid replacing parts I don't need to.

The pump is usually on the washer fluid reservoir. Getting to it can be tricky, depending on the model, but it's usually behind the wheel well liner. For the sensor, I meant wiping it down. If that doesn't work, it's likely faulty. My sensor was the problem. I'd suggest a workshop; they'll find the issue fast.

I appreciate it. I removed the sensor, cleaned it well, and tested it with a multimeter. It was faulty. A new sensor was 25€ and fixed it. The light is off, and the washer works. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar problem with my ML; the windshield washer stopped working and the warning light was on. Did you check the pump? Sometimes it gets clogged or just fails. Also, have you tried cleaning the fluid level sensor? It might be covered in debris.
