Mercedes R Klasse diesel crankcase ventilation valve issue

My 2014 Mercedes R Klasse diesel is acting up The check engine light is on, the engine feels like it's lost power, and there's smoke when I accelerate. An OBD reader points to the crankcase ventilation valve. Could this be a leak in the PCV system? Has anyone dealt with this crankcase valve issue before

Sounds familiar. I've got a Mercedes R Klasse as well. I had similar symptoms and it turned out to be the crankcase ventilation valve. Any noticeable oil leak

No visible oil leak that I can see. Just the reduced power, smoke, and the check engine light. Was yours doing the exact same thing? Did you try anything before replacing the valve

Yep, same symptoms. Didn't bother troubleshooting too much, just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the crankcase valve. They said it was a common failure. It's tied to the emissions system, so best to get it sorted

Thanks for the info I'll take it to a trusted workshop and get the crankcase ventilation valve replaced. Seems like the best course of action. The estimate I received was around 360€, so hopefully that's all it takes to fix it
