Mercedes S Klasse check engine and rough idle

My 2006 Mercedes S Klasse with a gasoline engine is giving me fits The check engine light keeps popping on, and I'm getting some pretty rough idle problems I'm suspecting it might be related to the air valve, maybe a hose connection from the pump to the valve is bad causing an air supply issue Has anyone dealt with this before

Dude, check that air intake real good I had similar check engine and idle problems with my S Klasse Turned out to be a cracked hose going to the air valve Made the engine act all sorts of wonky Is it throwing any specific codes

Yeah, it's throwing a code related to the air supply Where exactly was the cracked hose on yours Was it easy to spot, or did you have to really hunt for it I'm trying to avoid taking it to the shop if I can

Honestly, I couldn't find the crack myself I just knew something was up with the air intake and that it was probably the air valve So I took it to my mechanic, and they found it pretty quick Said it was a common issue Best bet is to get it smoke tested to pinpoint the leak It cost me around 175€ to get it fixed

Thanks I appreciate the info Sounds like I'm in over my head I'll take it to a shop and have them run a smoke test like you suggested Hopefully, it's just a hose like yours was I will advise once I get it sorted
