Interesting A sensitive automotive switch I don't remember the exact error code, but it definitely pointed to the brake light switch being faulty Is it something I could potentially replace myself, or am I risking making things worse

Okay, so if the code pointed to the switch, that's good As for doing it yourself, messing with the braking system is never a great idea unless you really know what you are doing Since your car is relatively new, and especially because it's a Mercedes, I would honestly suggest taking it to a workshop They can diagnose it properly and ensure the new switch is correctly installed and calibrated If it was just a blown fuse, I'd say go for it, but brakes are pretty critical

You were spot on I took it to the workshop, and it was indeed just the brake light switch They said something about it being a known issue and they replaced it in like 10 minutes under warranty, so 0€ cost for me Thanks for the advice I was so worried something major was failing

Whoa, that sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my old Volvo The symptoms were almost identical Turns out, automotive switches can be super sensitive The mechanic initially suspected a wiring issue, but it ended up just being the brake light switch itself Do you know what the specific error code is Knowing that might help narrow it down
