I understand your concern. I own a Mercedes CL and had a similar problem. While the model is different, the car locks might be similar. Did you check the fuse box? A blown fuse can cause this, disabling the car alarm and locking. It's a simple check before deeper investigation. Also, any recent work on the vehicle, especially the keyless entry?

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the fuses, they're fine. No recent work on the keyless entry or any electrical. It just happened. Do you remember any details about your CL situation? Any specific cable or connection?

My issue was a faulty connection in the door locking mechanism. The car alarm acted up too. Since the fuses are good and it happened suddenly, I suggest a professional diagnosis. DIY repairs could worsen it. Like surgery with gardening tools. It's probably a bad cable or plug, like you thought, so the repair might be around 95€.

I appreciate the advice and the analogy. I'll get a professional diagnosis. Best not to make it worse. Thanks again. The workshop said it was a defective cable, like we suspected.
