Mercedes SL solar sensor fault and heating issue

My 2003 Mercedes SL with a gasoline engine shows a solar sensor fault and deficient heating. The error memory indicates a potential cable or plug issue. Could a defective connection cause both the error and poor heating? The repair is about 95€. Is sensor calibration needed after fixing this? Does the daylight sensor affect heating output?

I also drive a Mercedes SL, though I don't know the year. I had a similar heating issue. Did you check the other sensors?

I haven't tested each sensor individually. Are you suggesting another sensor malfunction could affect the solar sensor or heating system?

That's what happened with my car. But if the error memory specifies the solar sensor, a workshop inspection might be best to avoid complications. A faulty cable will need replacing.

I took it to a technician as suggested. The solar sensor cable was faulty. After repair, the error is gone, and the heating works fine now. Thanks for the help.
