Mercedes SL Transmission Issue

My 2019 Mercedes SL with a gasoline engine is having trouble The transmission indicator light and check engine light are on, and it's stuck in emergency mode The automatic transmission slips and shifts uncleanly, with grinding noises I scanned it and it shows a radiator oil pressure defect I suspect a cable or plug connection issue Has anyone dealt with this before I'm also worried about a possible coolant leak and the cooling fan or cooling system, maybe even the oil cooler

I note your predicament with your SL I have experienced similar issues with the automatic transmission behaviour, indicator lights, and error messages In my case, this was related to the oil cooler lines Have you observed any evidence of coolant leak near the oil cooler or around the cooling system components Also, are you able to ascertain if the cooling fan is operating as expected These observations may provide additional insight into the root cause

Thanks for the reply I haven't specifically checked for a coolant leak around the oil cooler itself, but I'll take a look When you say 'similar issues,' was it also showing a radiator oil pressure defect, or was the error message different I'm trying to figure out if the error code is a red herring or directly related to the transmission problem And what about leak detection Did you do something special Did you fix it by yourself

In my situation, the error code was slightly different, referencing an issue with the oil temperature sensor However, the symptoms you describe were identical Given the potential for further complications and the precision required for diagnosis, I recommend consulting a qualified workshop, particularly one familiar with the Mercedes SL They will be able to conduct thorough leak detection and pinpoint the exact cause

Took your advice and brought it to a workshop You were right Turns out it was a faulty connection as suspected, they are saying the cable or plug connection of the component defective They checked the oil cooler, did a leak detection and replaced the faulty wiring, and it seems to be running fine now Total cost was around 95€ Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
