Just the audio and nav, thankfully Everything else seems normal So, you're saying it's likely one of those control unit things? Is there any way to figure out which one is the culprit without a degree in car electronics?

Yeah, pretty much With those symptoms and the MOST bus error, a faulty control unit is the most probable cause Honestly, without specialist diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the exact unit is a pain I ended up biting the bullet and taking mine to a workshop They have the tools to properly diagnose which control unit is causing the issue on the data transmission network Cost me around 1000€ to get it sorted, including parts and labor

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of Thanks for the info I guess I'll brace myself and book it in Sounds like a trip to the workshop is unavoidable 1000€, here I come! At least I have a direction now They confirmed it was a defective control unit on the MOST bus, just like you said, and replaced it Audio system is back!

Sounds eerily familiar I've got a C-Class, and I had a similar problem a while back The MOST bus is basically how all the different control units in your car talk to each other – things like the audio system, navigation, and other bits of infotainment If one control unit goes haywire, it can disrupt the entire data transmission network and take everything down with it It's an automotive protocol thing Did you notice anything else acting up, or was it just the audio and nav?
