Mercedes SLC clutch switch issue
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Mercedes SLC is experiencing issues with the clutch pedal switch, leading to a gear selection display error, non-functional cruise control, and occasional engine starting problems. The problem is suspected to be electrical, possibly related to the clutch switch itself. A similar case confirmed the clutch switch as the culprit, and replacing it resolved the issues. The owner decided to replace the switch, which fixed the problems.

Yeah I gave the connector a wiggle but no dice I haven't checked the harness thoroughly though What exactly went wrong with yours Was it definitely the clutch switch or something else causing similar symptoms And what did you do to fix it

Yep for me it was the clutch switch The symptoms you describe are spot on I tried cleaning the contacts but it was toast Honestly at that point I just bit the bullet and took it to a workshop It was easier than chasing wires for days and potentially making things worse you know If you don't have the right tools it's just not worth it Good luck

Thanks for the info I appreciate you sharing your experience It does sound like I'm on the right track so I'll probably just go ahead and replace the switch I took it to the workshop and they found the electrical fault in the clutch switch and replaced it Everything seems to be working fine now
