I haven't checked the fuses myself and I don't remember the error code but I can check the paperwork later No other steering wheel controls are giving me trouble Is it a big job to check the clock spring

Checking the clock spring isn't usually a huge job but it involves removing the steering wheel so disconnect the battery and be careful with the airbag Since you're not comfortable with the fuse box and don't have the error code I'd recommend taking it back to your mechanic A proper diagnostic with the error code will pinpoint the problem A defective cable or plug connection falls in line with the estimated cost It's better to have them properly diagnose it before replacing parts blindly

I appreciate the advice I'll take it back to the mechanic with the error code and let them take a look It turned out to be a faulty connector A new connector and some labor and it was fixed Thanks again for the help

I had a similar issue with my old Audi A4 The cruise control quit and it was a faulty connection Have you checked the fuses yourself If the error is stored it might be more than that The steering wheel and clock spring could be involved if other steering wheel controls are acting up Do you know the specific error code That might help narrow down the problem
