Mercedes SLC diesel rough running and power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes SLC diesel is experiencing reduced power, rough engine running, and increased fuel consumption, accompanied by a loud hissing sound during acceleration. The issue is suspected to be related to the airflow control, specifically a defective switch on the intake manifold flap control. A diagnostic scan confirmed the problem with the manifold flap control, and replacing the switch resolved the issue, restoring the car's performance.

Yes, forgot to mention that. The diagnostic scan pointed to a problem with the manifold flap control. I'm just trying to figure out if it's likely the switch itself or something more complicated. What was the exact problem with yours, and what did it end up costing you?

I can confirm that the diagnostic pointed to the intake manifold flap control. Given the symptoms and error code that you have received, it is highly probable that the switch itself is the source of the problem. Without further inspection I recommend that you seek assistance from a workshop.

Thanks for the insight! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was the intake manifold flap control switch. Repair cost me 465€. Reduced power is gone. Runs like new again.

It is possible your observations are correct. A similar situation occurred with my Mercedes SLC, although I'm unsure of the year and mileage at this moment. The symptoms you describe align with a potential issue in the intake manifold area. Has a diagnostic scan of the engine control unit been performed?
