Mercedes SLC fog sensor issues
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Mercedes SLC Diesel owner experienced issues with the fog sensor, leading to an error message, non-functional AC, frozen spray nozzles, and inactive mirror heating. Thanks for the reply. By "error memory", I mean the diagnostic trouble codes in the car's computer. Yes, the malfunction indicator lamp is on. I don't know if the sensor calibration was ever done. Is that standard, or specific to this?

I see. The malfunction indicator lamp is important. If the workshop thinks the cable or plug is bad, have them check the sensor calibration too. It's not always standard, but after a sensor replacement or repair, it's good to make sure it's reading right. With all those systems impacted, and the dashboard warning, it's best to have a technician look at it. It could save time and prevent more damage.

I appreciate the advice. I consulted a technician, and they confirmed a faulty connection to the fog sensor. After repairing it and calibrating the sensor, everything is working. Thanks for the help.

Interesting problem! I own an SLC too, though it's a bit older. I had something similar happen last year. All those issues at once points to a central problem, and a sensor like the fog sensor could be it. What do you mean by "error memory"? Is there a dashboard warning light? It could be the humidity sensor causing a climate control issue. Was the sensor calibration ever done?
