Mercedes SLC radio reception problem

My 2016 Mercedes SLC with a gasoline engine has a radio reception issue at 265999 km. The infotainment system shows an error, and the audio is non-functional. Diagnostics point to a defective antenna. I suspect the antenna booster or ground. The interference is static noise, suggesting a weak signal. Has anyone had similar vehicle electronics problems before a potential repair cost of 255€?

I had a similar issue with my SLC. The radio reception was terrible, lots of static. I checked the antenna connection first, made sure it was secure. Is your signal strength consistently weak, or does it fluctuate? Did you check the antenna base for corrosion?

The signal strength appears consistently weak, and the static noise is ever-present regardless of location. I have visually inspected the antenna base, but I did not detect any obvious corrosion. Could you elaborate on how you verified the integrity of the antenna ground, or if you have experience with the antenna booster?

I didn't check the ground myself, honestly. The symptoms sound very similar to what I experienced. In my case, it ended up being the antenna itself. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They'll have the tools to properly diagnose it.

I appreciate your advice and sharing your experience. It confirms my suspicions. I have scheduled an appointment with a qualified technician to assess the antenna and related components. Based on your input, I will proceed with the antenna replacement. Thank you again for your assistance.
