Mercedes SLC rough idle and acceleration issues

My 2018 Mercedes SLC with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. It only has 40928 km on it. The engine is running rough, stalls at idle, and the check engine light is on. Plus, it jerks when accelerating. I suspect it's an ignition coil issue, maybe a bad connection? Anyone else experience this?

Rough idling and jerking sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my SLC. Check the ignition system first. Could be the ignition coil. How mechanically inclined are you?

Yeah, I suspect the ignition coil as well. How did you pinpoint yours? I'm no expert, but I'm decent with a wrench and multimeter. Any specific tests I should run?

Symptoms are similar to what I experienced. I tried diagnosing it myself, but honestly, the vehicle diagnostics can be tricky. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They found a defective ignition coil, likely due to a faulty cable connection. It sorted out the check engine light and engine hesitation right away. Best to get yours checked by a professional.

Thanks for the insight! Based on your experience, I'll bite the bullet and take it to a mechanic. Turns out it was exactly what we thought: a defective ignition coil, caused by a bad plug. Repair cost me 95€. Runs like new now!
