Mercedes SLC Sunroof Issue After Coding

My Mercedes SLC from is throwing a Sunroof Not Initialized error The sunblind is stuck halfway, the convertible top is unresponsive, and the sunblind refuses to move Mileage is at km I think this started after coding work on the vehicle Has this happened to anyone else I've checked fuses, but no luck Is a sunroof calibration needed Is there a reset procedure I should try

I understand your frustration A similar situation occurred with my previous BMW 3 Series The sunroof operation became erratic after a software It sounds like your issue might stem from corrupted or incorrect coding affecting the sunroof mechanism I would suggest checking if the coding that was carried out is compatible with all the sunroof system parameters

Thanks for the reply When this happened with your BMW, was there a specific reset or calibration procedure I'm trying to avoid a costly trip to the workshop I'm familiar with vehicle sunroof maintenance, but I'm not sure how to solve this Mercedes sunroof problem

In my case, a simple reset did not resolve the issue The problem was a discrepancy between the expected and actual values within the sunroof control module While there might be a specific sunroof calibration sequence for your Mercedes, I strongly recommend consulting a qualified technician Incorrectly attempting a reset can potentially exacerbate the problem and cause further damage to the sunroof mechanism It might be worth a diagnostic session before you consider any more invasive procedures

Appreciate the advice I took your suggestion and went to a workshop It turns out the coding did mess with the sunroof settings They ran a quick diagnostic and performed a sunroof calibration It cost me 75€, but everything is working perfectly now The sunblind is retracting properly, and the convertible top is back in action Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
