When you mention 'gunked up', are you referring to a buildup of residue that restricts the movement of the actuator Could you elaborate on how that affects the boost pressure Is it like a kink in a hose restricting flow

Exactly Think of it like cholesterol blocking an artery; the turbo system cannot breathe properly The pressure sensor is reporting an issue I'd suggest a visit to a workshop with diagnostic tools They can pinpoint if it's the turbo actuator itself or something else within the turbocharger system Better safe than sorry It could cause serious engine damage

I appreciate your assistance I took your advice and visited my local workshop It turned out to be a defective electrical bypass valve, as suspected The repair cost me approximately 250€ Thank you again for your guidance

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my Sprinter It acted like the turbocharger wasn't kicking in properly The problem was centered around the boost pressure Did you check the turbo actuator It is related to the pressure sensor, like a valve that's stuck open Sometimes they get gunked up and can cause that whistling noise you mentioned
