Thanks for the info. Where exactly is the throttle sensor located? Is it difficult to access? I'm not very experienced with car repairs.

The throttle sensor is generally integrated into the throttle body assembly itself. Access can vary depending on the engine configuration, but it's usually near the air intake. Given your lack of experience, I recommend taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the issue and replace the throttle body if necessary. It sounds like the throttle valve is defective.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a mechanic, and you were right, it was a defective throttle body. I replaced it, and everything's running smoothly now.

I experienced similar symptoms in my Mercedes Vito, though it's a diesel. The check engine light illuminated, and the van went into limp mode. Have you checked the throttle sensor and air flow readings? A faulty throttle body can definitely cause these issues. Inspecting the wiring harness connected to the throttle position sensor might also be worth doing.
