Mercedes V Klasse AC Compressor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2002 Mercedes V Klasse is experiencing an A/C compressor issue where it disengages intermittently, leading to ineffective cooling and an error code. Potential causes include undervoltage, a faulty pressure switch or sensor, or issues with the belt tensioner. A similar case was resolved by addressing an electrical problem, specifically a short in the wiring harness causing voltage drops. It is recommended to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed and repaired, as A/C systems can be complex.

When your A/C compressor shut off, did the diagnostic system indicate an undervoltage condition Were you able to resolve the issue yourself, or did you need a repair shop

The system was throwing undervoltage errors everywhere I tried checking connections, but I ended up taking it to a shop They found a short in the wiring harness causing the voltage drop Get it diagnosed professionally A/C systems can be difficult

I appreciate the advice I will schedule an appointment with a Mercedes-Benz service center Entrusting it to professionals seems best The repair cost was 240€ for reference Thanks again

I had a similar A/C issue with my V Class It turned out to be an electrical problem Check all your grounds first A bad ground can cause weird stuff Also, inspect the wiring to the pressure switch for corrosion or damage Does the problem happen more when the engine is hot, or when using electrical components
