Undervoltage? I hadn't considered that. How does undervoltage affect the automatic transmission? Can I check that myself, or is it a workshop job?

Low voltage was the problem for me. The transmission needs stable electrical signals. When the voltage drops, the control unit might get bad data, causing shifting problems. I'd suggest a workshop check the electrical system and the transmission oil. It's hard to diagnose without the right equipment.

Thanks for the tip. The workshop confirmed it was undervoltage and the transmission oil was worn. They replaced the oil and fixed the voltage. It cost 240€ and shifts smoothly now.

That sounds familiar. I had similar transmission problems with my V Klasse. The slipping and emergency mode are concerning. Have you checked the voltage?
