The pressure sensor, huh? I haven't checked that specifically. Where exactly is that located, and how would I go about checking it? Is it something I can easily access, or am I better off just throwing in the towel and taking it to a mechanic?

Okay, so I am no mechanic, but on my Astra it was near the fuel tank. Accessing it was a bit of a pain, I had to jack up the car. Honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around under the car, it might be best to get a professional to take a look. It could save you time and potential headaches, especially since the EVAP system is related to emission control and all that.

Thanks for the advice! I ended up taking it to the shop, and you were spot on! It was indeed the activated charcoal filter causing the leak in the fuel tank ventilation system. They replaced it, and the check engine light is gone, and it idles smoothly now. The total repair cost was around 275€. Hopefully, my fuel efficiency will go back to normal now, too! Appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, although the car is completely different from a V Klasse. The check engine light was on, and the engine was acting weird. For me, it turned out to be something with the EVAP system. Have you checked the pressure sensor on your fuel tank? Maybe something is off there. It's kind of like when your vacuum cleaner bag is full, and the suction goes down.
