Sounds rough. I had a similar headache with my old Peugeot, a complete different beast I know. The engine light would come on and the engine would stall out of nowhere. Turned out to be bad cable connections at the battery, creating voltage drops which messed with the ECU. The Peugeot's engine software got all confused. Have you checked your battery connections? Clean and tight?

Battery connections, you say? Where exactly should I be looking? Is it an easy fix or does it require special tools? I'm not very technical.

Yeah, the main battery terminals. Clean them up, make sure they're tight. Think of it like a loose ethernet cable on your computer - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If that's not it, could be something more serious with the ECU itself. In that case, best take it to a workshop and let them diagnose it properly. It could be something deeper within the engine software.

Thanks for the tip! You were spot on. The cable connections of the battery were indeed the problem. Cleaned everything, tightened the connections, and it started right up. Workshop charged me 155€ for checking. Appreciate the advice!
