Mercedes V Klasse Engine Performance Issue Resolved

My 2006 Mercedes V Klasse with a gasoline engine has a check engine light and diminished performance. There's turbo lag, and fuel consumption is up. I suspect a boost pressure control fault, maybe a bad vacuum switching valve. Could a faulty bypass valve or boost controller cause this? Has anyone seen similar symptoms?

Hey, I had something similar with my V Klasse. Reduced engine power, sluggish response... Sound familiar?

Pressure sensor, you say? Where is that located, and how would I check it?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. Honestly, I'm no mechanic. I just took mine to a workshop and they sorted it. Best bet, saves you time and hassle.

Thanks for the advice. I took your suggestion and went to a workshop. It was indeed the vacuum switching valve, as I suspected. Repair cost 140€. Engine performance is back to normal. I appreciate the quick responses!
