Mercedes V Klasse Radio Reception Issue
Summary of the thread
A Mercedes V Klasse from 2013 experienced poor radio reception, with errors indicating a potential antenna issue. The problem was suspected to be a defective antenna or possibly an issue with the antenna booster or vehicle electronics. After considering checking the antenna cable connections, the owner opted to take the car to a workshop. The workshop confirmed the antenna was defective, replaced it, and resolved the reception issue.

Thanks, I will check the connections but I am not sure where to find this antenna cable, is it easy to access and do I need special tooling to check the connection? Is there something special to look for?

Accessing the cable can be tricky depending on your car's setup, might need some trim removal tools to avoid damaging anything. If you are uneasy about it, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop rather than risk messing with vehicle electronics. They should be able to diagnose the antenna issue quickly.

Right, thanks for the advice. Ended up taking it to the workshop. They confirmed it was a defective antenna and replaced it. Cost me 255€ as expected. Radio reception is perfect now. Problem solved.

Hmm, that's strange. I had some car radio issues once, turned out to be a loose connection. Have you checked the antenna cable connection at the back of the radio unit? Is it properly seated? Also, does it only happen in certain areas, or is it consistent everywhere?
