Mercedes Viano Defrost Flap Issue

My 2023 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine is throwing a weird code. Mileage is at 217618 km. I'm getting an error related to the defrost air distribution flap. Basically, it's throwing an error in the memory, and the heating output seems low. I'm suspecting a faulty cable or plug connection. Has anyone seen this before? Thinking I might need to pull the dashboard panel to get to it. Seems like the windshield fogging is also getting worse. I checked the blower motor and the climate control settings, and ventilation system seems normal, but I still have low heating output. Trying to avoid a big bill.

Sounds familiar. Had a similar problem with my old Ford Focus. The ventilation system was acting up. Check the easiest things first.

What was the fix on your Focus? Was it definitely the air distribution flap? And how much did it set you back? I'm trying to gauge if it's worth tackling myself or just biting the bullet and going to a shop.

Yeah, it was the flap motor in my Focus. Ended up taking it to a workshop. Best bet is to get it checked before you mess with it yourself.

Took your advice and went to a local garage. Turns out it was a dodgy connection to the defrost flap, just like I suspected. They charged me 95€ to sort it. Heating is back to normal, and the windshield fogging has cleared. Appreciate the input.
