Mercedes Viano Software Fault Electrical Gremlins

My 2010 Mercedes Viano gasoline engine is throwing weird codes. The diagnostics show a software fault causing electrical issues. The navigation is dead, and I'm getting random errors. Mileage is only 43838 km. Could this be a simple software issue? The workshop suggests implausible control unit programming, quoting 240€ for a fix. Does this sound right? I'm hoping a software reset might do the trick. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I had a comparable issue with my Mercedes Vito. It manifested as seemingly unrelated electronic malfunctions. The error memory indicated a control unit programming problem, like a digital hiccup. Have you tried a recalibration?

Recalibration? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this stuff. Is that something I can do myself, or does it require special equipment? Does it involve a software reset?

Recalibration requires specific diagnostic tools; think of it like needing a specialized key to unlock a digital door. The process involves onboard diagnostics and potentially a software . Given the symptoms, I recommend letting a workshop handle it to prevent further complications.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it was a corrupted software issue. They performed a software and recalibrated the control unit. Everything seems to be working fine now. The 240€ cost was spot on.
