Mercedes Viano SRS Light Issue

Experiencing an airbag system issue in my 2015 Mercedes Viano with a gasoline engine. The vehicle has 196112 km. The SRS light is on. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar problem? I am assessing the likelihood of this diagnosis prior to repair.

SRS light? Sounds familiar. Had something similar happen on my Vito. Check the airbag sensor under the seats. Seems like a common point of failure. Does the light stay on all the time, or is it intermittent?

The SRS light remains constantly illuminated. Is it your understanding that a faulty airbag sensor connection, specifically the cable, under the seat would directly trigger the dashboard warning light? I am trying to understand the failure mode you encountered.

Yeah, the light was constant for me too. Seems like a loose connection or corrosion on the connector can cause it. Saved me a bunch of headache trying to diagnose it myself. I ended up going to a workshop and they fixed it quickly. If you don't feel confident checking wiring diagrams, save yourself the trouble.

Based on your recommendation, I had the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician. The issue was indeed a faulty connector at the crash sensor. The repair cost 95€. Your input assisted in expediting the diagnostic process, preventing unnecessary troubleshooting. I appreciate your assistance regarding this vehicle safety issue.
