Mercedes Washer Fluid Warning and System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Mercedes E Klasse diesel displayed a persistent 'Washer fluid low' warning despite a full reservoir, and the windshield washer system was non-functional. The issue was initially suspected to be a faulty sensor in the washer fluid tank. However, after checking the washer motor, it was identified as the problem. Replacing the washer motor resolved the issue, restoring the system's functionality and eliminating the warning light.

Thanks for the idea. I haven't checked the sensor specifically. How would I test if the sensor is faulty? Should I just replace it, or are there tests I should do first?

I just took my car to a shop because I didn't have the tools to check it myself. They found a bad sensor and replaced it quickly. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, a professional might be the way to go.

Thanks for the help. I checked the washer motor, and it seemed to be the problem. I replaced it for about 25€, and now the windshield cleaning system works, and the warning light is gone. Thanks again!

I had the same thing happen with my old BMW. The warning light stayed on even with a full reservoir. It turned out to be a bad sensor in the washer fluid tank. Have you looked at the sensor or the washer motor? Those can cause problems too.
