When you had the suspension issue, did the error codes indicate which shock absorber was the problem? I'm wondering if I should check each connection myself before going to a workshop.

In my case, the error codes were specific, pointing to the rear right shock absorber's damping adjustment. Given the system's complexity and potential for more damage, I'd suggest consulting a qualified technician. A proper diagnosis will save time and prevent costly repairs. Inspecting the connectors is worth a try, but without the right tools, pinpointing the exact cause is difficult. Considering your repair estimate, going to the workshop might be best.

Thanks, that's helpful! I'll book it in at the workshop to be safe. You were right, it was a corroded connector. They cleaned it, and everything is back to normal. The ride is great now, the error codes are gone, and the warning light is off. The total cost was 95€, so I'm happy.

I understand your frustration. I also own a Mercedes X Klasse and had a similar suspension failure. The error code might suggest a simple cable or plug issue with the shock absorber, but consider the entire system. The adaptive suspension relies on sensors and actuators communicating with the control unit. A fault in any of these, or their wiring, could cause the warning light and bumpy ride. Have you scanned the suspension for specific fault codes? This will help diagnose the problem. Testing each shock absorber individually is recommended.
