Mercedes X Klasse Diesel Defrost Air Distribution Flap Issue

My 2019 Mercedes X Klasse diesel is showing a fault related to the defrost air distribution flap. Heating output is lower than expected. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to avoid dismantling the ventilation system or HVAC unit for what seems like a minor electrical issue. The blower motor seems fine, and the heater core should be okay. It's pointing to a potential 95€ fix, and I'm wondering if I can sort it myself. Any thoughts?

I have a similar Mercedes X Klasse, and faced comparable issues with the defrost function. Have you checked the relevant fuses? It might be a simple fix before delving into wiring.

Good shout. I'll check the fuses, but where exactly are the relevant fuses located? Are there any specific ones I should be looking at before tracing wires through the ventilation system to the HVAC unit?

I had a similar experience and I would advise going to a workshop as the issue persisted despite fuse checks. They identified a loose connection, which fixed the problem.

Thanks for the heads up. I ended up taking it to the shop, and you were spot on. It was a loose connection as suspected. 95€ later, all sorted. Appreciate the advice!
