Mercedes X Klasse Diesel Engine Problem Resolved

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2020 Mercedes X Klasse diesel. It's got about 271734 km on the clock. The check engine light is on, and I'm getting noticeably reduced engine power. The engine runs rough, especially at idle, and it sometimes stalls. There's also some jerking when accelerating. I suspect it's a mixture preparation error. I've checked the air-fuel ratio and the oxygen sensor seems okay. I've also visually inspected the throttle body and intake manifold for any obvious obstructions, but everything looks clean. I haven't touched the spark plugs yet, considering it's a diesel. Any ideas where to look next?

I also drive an X Klasse and experienced similar symptoms. A defective injector can indeed cause a mixture preparation error. Have you considered that possibility?

Thanks for the input. When you say 'defective injector,' what exactly failed in your case? Was it a complete failure, or was it just delivering an incorrect amount of fuel? Also, were there any specific error codes that pointed you to the injector?

In my case, the injector was delivering an incorrect fuel quantity, leading to an imbalance in the air-fuel ratio. I suggest a diagnostic check at a workshop to confirm if this is also the issue in your case.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out one of the injection valves was defective. Got it replaced, and the total repair cost was 515€. Runs like new now.
