Thanks for the input A fuel leak is an interesting point I haven't specifically checked for that I assumed it was electrical Where exactly should I be looking for a leak in the injection system Any specific areas that are more prone to leaks on the X Klasse Also what did fixing your system involve

I appreciate your initiative in investigating the matter further In my experience the connections to the injectors themselves and the high-pressure fuel pump are common sources of leaks Look for any signs of fuel residue or dampness around these components Regarding my resolution diagnosis pointed towards a defective cable or plug connection of the component which was causing the entire system to malfunction Replacing this part cost 95€ so I would recommend consulting a qualified mechanic to perform a comprehensive diagnostic assessment I hope you will find the cause of the problem

Okay thanks for the advice Knowing where to look for potential leaks is a big help I'll definitely check those areas you mentioned And you're right probably best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis Turns out it was a defective cable or plug connection of the component just like you said Got it sorted for 95€ Thanks for saving me a ton of time and stress

I understand your frustration as I experienced a similar challenge with my X Klasse Based on your description it appears the diesel injection system is indeed the source of the issue The elevated fuel consumption reduced power stalling and smoke are all classic symptoms Before tearing everything apart have you considered the possibility of a fuel leak A minor leak can significantly impact performance and fuel efficiency In my case the system was defective and I needed to replace it
