Mercedes X Klasse Transmission Issue

My 2019 Mercedes X Klasse diesel is acting up. The gearbox is slipping, shifting roughly, and the malfunction indicator lamp is on. Diagnostic says transmission oil pressure sensor fault. Mileage is at 115560 km. Has anyone encountered this before? Could low oil be the cause?

I had a similar issue with my X Klasse. Same symptoms: emergency mode, rough shifts. The error memory also reported a pressure sensor fault. Have you checked the gearbox oil level? That was the problem for me.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm going to check the oil level right away. Did your pressure gauge show any strange readings before the fault code appeared?

I didn't notice the pressure gauge. The emergency mode activated quickly. Checking the oil level is a good start, but if the problem continues, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. These things can be complex.

You were right. Oil level was low. I topped it up, cleared the fault code, and it seems to be running smoothly again. It cost me 365€ for the oil and a diagnostic check. Thanks for the tip!
