Thanks for sharing that experience! It's really helpful to know I'm not alone with this issue. Sounds like we had almost identical problems with our Landies. Quick question, would you mind sharing how much the whole repair set you back? Also, have you had any other problems since getting it fixed? Just want to know what I might be in for! Cheers!

Hey again! Glad I could help! Just wanted to update you, I actually got lucky with my repair. It turned out to be just the incorrect oil issue, which was causing the low pressure warning. The mechanic did a complete oil flush and replacement, and it sorted everything out. The total came to 175.00 €, way less than I was expecting given how worried I was about those metal bits! Since the fix, my Range Rover Sport's been running like a dream, no more warning lights or any other issues. The oil pressure's perfect now, and I haven't seen any more metal shavings in the oil. Honestly, it was such a relief that it wasn't anything more serious like I initially thought. Just make sure you get it checked out soon, I know how nerve-wracking these things can be, especially with hybrids. But catching it early really made all the difference in my case. Keep us posted on how it goes with yours! Take care!

Thanks so much for following up! After your message, I bit the bullet and took it to a certified hybrid specialist. Turns out my situation was a bit different, had to replace the oil pump and some bearings like you initially mentioned. Set me back about 2,500 € total, which hurt the wallet but at least the car's running smoothly now. Funny story, when I got to the mechanic, smoke was literally coming from under the hood! Talk about dramatic timing. The mechanic actually showed me all the damaged parts afterward, pretty eye-opening to see what metal shavings can do to an engine. Really appreciate you sharing your experience, it gave me the push I needed to get it sorted quickly. Been driving it for a week now, and it's running better than ever. No more warning lights or scary noises! Definitely learned my lesson about regular maintenance checks. Thanks again for all the help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Hybrid at around 95,000 km. The metal shavings in the oil definitely rang a bell, had the exact same problem last month. At the garage, they diagnosed it as incorrect engine oil being used during the previous service, which caused accelerated wear on engine components. The metal particles were from the damaged bearings. The oil pressure warning and flickering lights were direct results of this issue. In my case, they had to flush the engine multiple times, replace the oil pump, and several bearings. It was quite serious as metal particles can cause cascading damage if not addressed quickly. They also had to clean the oil passages to prevent any remaining metal particles from circulating. This isn't something you want to postpone, metal in oil usually indicates internal engine damage that'll only get worse. If you catch it early, you might prevent more extensive damage. Make sure to get it checked at a certified Land Rover service center since hybrids need specialized attention. Hope this helps with your decision!
