Micra Oil Temperature Warning

My 2010 Nissan Micra diesel's oil temperature warning light keeps appearing, and it's storing an error related to the oil temperature sensor. The oil pressure warning lamp is now lighting up intermittently. The cable and plug connection to the sensor might be defective. Has anyone else seen this before?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Micra too. Had something similar happen – oil gauge acting up. Is the warning constantly on or does it flicker?

Good to know I'm not alone! It's mostly constant, but there are moments when it flickers and then goes solid again. Did yours end up being the sensor itself or something else?

Mine was playing peek-a-boo like that too. Honestly, I'd wager it's the sensor wiring. While you might be able to bodge a fix, I'd say get it checked at a workshop. A bad sensor reading can lead to real engine damage. Better safe than sorry, right?

You're spot on. Took it to the shop, and you nailed it – faulty connection at the sensor. They replaced the connector and sensor to be safe. Cost me about 95€, but at least my Micra's happy again. Thanks for the help!
