Micra preheating lamp issue

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old 2012 Citroen C4, although the symptoms were slightly different. The engine light kept coming on, and the car occasionally stalled. Did you check the glow plugs themselves, or just the control unit?

Only the control unit so far. I will check the glow plugs if the problem persists, but do you think the unit is still more likely? Or maybe the engine sensor?

In my case, it turned out to be a dodgy connection to the control unit. I tried cleaning the contacts, but it was a temporary fix. Eventually, I had to take it to a workshop to properly diagnose and resolve the issue. I would definitely recommend getting it checked professionally. They will have the right tools and diagnostic equipment.

Thanks for the insight! Following your suggestion, I had it checked at the workshop. You were spot on – a defective plug connection to the glow control unit. A replacement and diagnostics set me back 95€, but at least the problem is resolved.
