Micra temperature sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Nissan Micra diesel with high mileage is experiencing a temperature sensor error, causing an error message and preventing the AC from functioning. The issue is likely due to a defective air conditioning control unit, which can send incorrect signals interpreted as a sensor malfunction. The suggested solution is to have the AC control unit checked and potentially replaced, which resolved the problem after a workshop visit.

Thanks for the tip! No coolant leak that I can see, and the engine temp seems normal. But why would the AC control unit cause the temperature sensor error? Is it like a domino effect?

Precisely! The AC control unit, when faulty, can send erroneous signals which the system interprets as a temperature sensor malfunction. Think of it like a bad translator messing up the message. Considering your symptoms and mileage, a defective AC control unit is the likely culprit. You might need to visit a workshop for diagnostics.

Thanks a lot! I took it to the workshop and you were spot on. Turns out the AC control unit was indeed defective and throwing off the sensor readings. Repair cost me 980€, but at least it's fixed now.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Micra. Check your air conditioning control unit. It might be defective. Is the engine cooling properly, or are you seeing any signs of coolant leak?
